Mbappé is poised to compete for Real Madrid in the Intercontinental Cup final against the Mexican team Pachuca.
Real Madrid is set to face the Mexican club Pachuca in the final of the modified Intercontinental Cup on Wednesday, with Kylian Mbappé anticipated to participate after recovering from a left-thigh injury.
This tournament, which is being held in a new format following FIFA's expansion of the Club World Cup for 2025, features the champions from all six soccer confederations. It will occur annually, while the larger Club World Cup is scheduled to take place every four years.
Madrid secured their place in the final without competing in preliminary matches, having qualified as the European champion. In contrast, Pachuca progressed by overcoming South American champions Botafogo and Al Ahly from Egypt in the earlier rounds of the tournament hosted in Qatar.
Mbappé has resumed training with the rest of the Madrid squad after missing a Spanish league match against Rayo Vallecano, which ended in a 3-3 draw on Saturday.
The French forward, who has yet to fully meet expectations in his inaugural season with Madrid, sustained an injury and was substituted after scoring in Madrid's 3-2 victory over Atalanta in the Champions League last week.
Madrid's coach, Carlo Ancelotti, expressed optimism regarding Mbappé's availability for the final on Wednesday, although the team continues to contend with injuries to several key players, including Dani Carvajal, Eder Militão, David Alaba, and Ferland Mendy.
