Brazilian forward Endrick is poised to make his debut for Lyon in the French Cup against Lille on Sunday, although it is improbable that he will start the match.
The 19-year-old Endrick is currently on loan from Real Madrid until the season concludes, having had limited playing time with the Spanish club during this campaign.
"To be honest, he’s not prepared to play a full 90 minutes. However, I am confident he will participate for a short while," stated Lyon coach Paulo Fonseca on Friday. "He has been involved in all of our training sessions."
This season, Endrick has only appeared in three matches for Madrid under the new coach Xabi Alonso, and he was advised by former Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, who is now coaching Endrick with the Brazilian national team, to pursue playing opportunities elsewhere.
Last season, under Ancelotti, Endrick netted seven goals in 37 appearances for Madrid, showcasing his speed, dribbling skills, and occasionally remarkable finishing.
Endrick also scored three goals for Brazil last year, including strikes against England and Spain.
He began his career at Palmeiras, based in São Paulo, where he scored 21 goals in 82 matches, which led to his "dream" transfer to Madrid.
