Mac Allister nets a stoppage-time winner for Liverpool following a VAR decision that disallowed an earlier goal.

Alexis Mac Allister demonstrated remarkable perseverance.

After an 89th-minute goal was disallowed due to a VAR review, the Argentine midfielder found the net again in the seventh minute of stoppage time — and this time, it was validated after a video check — securing Liverpool a 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday.

The thrilling conclusion at the City Ground revolved entirely around Mac Allister, who believed he had scored without realizing it after turning away from a clearance by Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina.

The ball deflected off Mac Allister and into the goal, but VAR intervened, indicating it had touched his arm, leading to the disallowance of the goal.

Nevertheless, he was present for what was virtually the final kick of the match when Virgil van Dijk’s header was mishandled by Forest goalkeeper Stefan Ortega. From just six meters out, Mac Allister could hardly miss as he sidefooted the ball into the net.

A VAR check was conducted to determine if Van Dijk was offside, but the goal was ultimately awarded.

Liverpool remained in sixth place but was level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea and fifth-placed Manchester United, who have a game in hand against Everton on Monday.

Sunderland has experienced a decline in home performance.
It was not long ago that Sunderland held the distinction of being the only Premier League team with an unbeaten home record.

Currently, the Black Cats have suffered two consecutive losses at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland was defeated 3-1 by Fulham, which featured two goals from Mexican striker Raul Jimenez — one of which was a penalty.

Just ten days prior, Sunderland faced a 1-0 loss to Liverpool, marking their first home defeat of the season.

Crystal Palace secures a win amid uncertainty regarding Glasner’s future.
As speculation surrounds the future of Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner, his team managed to secure a 1-0 victory over last-placed Wolverhampton, thanks to a last-minute goal.

Evann Guessand netted a far-post finish shortly after being introduced as a substitute.
Ahead of the game, Glasner, who led Palace to FA Cup glory last season, was non-committal about whether he would be staying at the club until the end of the season. He has already said he’ll be leaving in the summer.
