Bangladesh suffered a significant defeat against Vietnam.

The youth team of Bangladesh has been eliminated from the qualifiers of the AFC U-20 tournament. In their third Group A match held on Friday, September 27, they suffered a defeat of 1-4 against the host nation, Vietnam.

Despite having one match remaining in the tournament, Bangladesh has already been eliminated, accumulating only 1 point from 3 matches. The upcoming match against Bhutan on September 29 will now serve merely as a formality.

Bangladesh experienced a dismal beginning to the tournament, failing to offer any resistance against a formidable Syrian team, resulting in a 0-4 loss. In their subsequent match against Guam, they managed to take the lead twice but ultimately settled for a draw.

In the match against Vietnam, coached by Maruful Haque, the team struggled significantly, trailing 1-3 at halftime. They missed several scoring opportunities during this period.

Vietnam opened the scoring in the fourth minute of the match. Pius Ahmed Nova managed to net a goal for Bangladesh in the first half, which turned out to be merely a consolation. As Vietnam added another goal in the second half, Bangladesh concluded the match with a disappointing 1-4 defeat.
