India decisively defeat Namibia in preparation for the upcoming match against Pakistan.

The defending champions, India, continued their journey towards the Super Eight stage of the Twenty20 World Cup by achieving a commanding 93-run victory over Namibia in a Group A match held at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Thursday.
After being put in to bat, India amassed a total of 209-9, thanks to rapid half-centuries from opener Ishan Kishan (61) and middle-order batsman Hardik Pandya (52).

They subsequently bowled out Namibia for 116 in 18.2 overs, marking their second consecutive win and securing the top position in the group due to their superior net run-rate compared to Pakistan, who also have four points from two matches.

The Asian rivals are set to face each other in a highly anticipated match in Colombo on Sunday.

"I believe it was a commendable game for everyone involved," stated India captain Suryakumar Yadav.

"Batting on that wicket was quite challenging. The way Ishan and Sanju (Samson) began, it didn’t seem difficult, but it was indeed a tough wicket."

With Abhishek Sharma, the current top-ranked T20 batsman, still recuperating from a stomach infection, an out-of-form Samson was given another chance to shine after India was sent in to bat.

Samson (22) appeared eager to capitalize on this opportunity. The right-handed batsman hit three sixes but squandered his promising start by getting out in the second over.

Kishan was given out lbw on 11, but he promptly reviewed the decision, and replays confirmed that he had edged the ball before it struck his pad.

Namibia likely regretted this, as Kishan proceeded to hit JJ Smit for four consecutive sixes, reaching a fifty in just 20 balls.

To exacerbate Namibia's woes, Louren Steenkamp dropped Tilak Varma (25) when he was on 19.

India took 4.3 overs to reach 50 runs, and their next 50 runs came off a mere 14 balls.

Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus (4-20) eventually ended Kishan's explosive 24-ball innings, and they managed to slow down the scoring after the dismissals of Varma and Suryakumar (12).

Pandya, who hit four sixes, along with Shivam Dube (23), provided a late surge to propel India past the 200-run mark.

Steenkamp (29) and Jan Frylinck (22) started positively for Namibia, but the team kept losing wickets, leading them out of contention.
For India, a fit-again Jasprit Bumrah bowled four tidy overs claiming the wicket of Ruben Trumpelmann with a trademark yorker.
Varun Chakravarthy (3-7) was the pick of the Indian bowlers, while fellow spinner Axar Patel and player-of-the-match Pandya claimed two wickets apiece.
"After the powerplay, we thought dew might make bowling tough and we had a chance. But that spell from Varun broke the back of our chase," Erasmus said.
