Mustafiz shines in the last over, Dhumketu defeats Durbar to become champions

Durbar needed 31 runs in the last 3 overs, 7 wickets in hand, and two steady batsmen at the crease, Nurul Hasan Sohan and Afif Hossain. In such a situation, Durbar was the favorite.

But Mustafizur Rahman had two of the last 3 overs left! 'Caster Master' Fizz turned the match around in an instant. He returned to bowling in the 18th over and dismissed Sohan.

He broke Afif's 94-run partnership with him. Mustafiz gave away only 4 runs in that over.

In the 19th over, Rishad Hossain took the wicket of Sabbir Rahman despite giving away 11 runs. Durbar needed 16 runs to win in the last over.

However, in another brilliant over by Mustafiz, Afif and Mohammad Saifuddin could only take 8. That's it! Dhumketu became the champion of the indomitable Bangladesh T20 Cup by defeating Durbar by 7 runs.

Liton Das's Dhumketu, who lost the toss in the final at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today, batted first and scored 208 runs for 3 wickets. The foundation for a big collection was laid by two openers, Tanjid Hasan Tamim and Saif Hasan.

Their opening partnership came with 149 runs.

In reply, after Habibur Rahman's explosive start, even Afif and Sohan's great innings could not win the match. Mustafiz's last gasp saw the team stop at 201 runs for 5 wickets.

In the wake of Kolkata Knight Riders being excluded from the IPL, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had made many requests to the ICC to shift the T20 World Cup matches from India to Sri Lanka due to security issues. In the end, Bangladesh is not playing in the World Cup due to their insistence on their decisions.

So, BCB organized the Indomitable Bangladesh T20 Cup in Mirpur with these three teams - Dhumketu, Durbar, Duronto. Dhumketu was formed with the team that was in the T20 World Cup squad. This team led by Liton became the champion today.
