Pakistan coach reveals what happened in the dressing room after the defeat to India

After a big 61-run defeat to India, deep disappointment descended in the Pakistan team's dressing room. This is the picture painted by Pakistan's head coach Mike Hesson.

Batting first, India scored 175 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the T20 World Cup Group 'A' match at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. In response, Pakistan was bundled out for 114 runs.

As a result, Pakistan's history of disappointment against India in the World Cup stage has become even longer.

Hesson said at the post-match press conference, 'There is a lot of disappointment in the dressing room now. The players were quiet. Everyone knows how important this match is.

A Pakistan-India match means a different emotion, a different pressure.'

He admitted that the team was confident. Pakistan was in good shape after winning five consecutive matches before the tournament. But the plan against India did not work on the field.

'We started well, but the match was lost in the middle,' added Hesson.
Hesson suffered his fourth consecutive defeat against India, including in three matches in last year's Asia Cup.

Ishan Kishan played a brilliant innings of 77 runs for India. Later, Jasprit Bumrah set fire to the ball, who broke Pakistan's top order early on. He took two wickets in the second over and turned the match around.
Pakistan's innings collapsed, losing 3 wickets for 13 runs. In the end, the team was all out for 114 runs in 18 overs. This is Pakistan's third lowest score against India in T20Is.

The decision to field has also been questioned. However, Hesson defended his decision, saying,
"There was spin on the wicket at the beginning. We thought it would be convenient to chase. But the way Ishan batted, he took the match out of our hands."

With this victory, India has secured a place in the Super Eights by winning its third consecutive match. On the other hand, Pakistan now has to win the last match to survive in the tournament.

Although Hesson's voice is disappointed, he is not giving up hope. "We have to turn things around quickly. There are opportunities ahead. We know this team can play good cricket."
