Ben Seghir's resurgence is contributing significantly to Monaco's impressive beginning to the season.
Monaco has made an impressive start to the French league, coinciding with the resurgence of Eliesse Ben Seghir.
The 19-year-old Moroccan midfielder has been a standout performer in coach Adi Hütter’s unbeaten Monaco squad, which is currently tied on points with reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille after five matches.
In the recent match against Le Havre, Ben Seghir contributed significantly by scoring Monaco’s second goal in a 3-1 victory at home, executing a beautifully curled shot into the top corner after skillfully cutting inside onto his right foot.
Following the game, he humorously noted that his teammates refer to that particular shot as “The Special,” as it has become his trademark finish. This goal marked his second of the season.
Ben Seghir showcased his exceptional talent two years ago when he netted twice on his league debut, raising expectations at a club renowned for nurturing the careers of French football icons such as Thierry Henry and Kylian Mbappé. His well-executed goals, including a curler reminiscent of Mbappé’s style after cutting in from the left, left a lasting impression.
