The final of the 2025 Club World Cup is scheduled to take place at MetLife Stadium, which will also host the final of the 2026 World Cup.
The championship of the expanded Club World Cup is scheduled to take place on July 13 of next year at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which will also host the final of the 2026 World Cup.
According to FIFA's announcement on Saturday evening, the tournament will feature 32 teams and will utilize twelve stadiums, including five of the eleven venues in the United States designated for the 2026 World Cup.
The selected locations comprise six NFL stadiums, four Major League Soccer venues, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California—historically significant as the site of the 1994 World Cup final—and Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, which also hosted matches during the 1994 World Cup.
FIFA made this announcement at 6:20 p.m. EDT on a Saturday, a time when the focus of U.S. sports fans was primarily on college football and Major League Baseball playoff races. FIFA President Gianni Infantino disclosed the venues during the Global Citizen Festival, an event organized by an anti-poverty organization in Central Park, New York.
In December, FIFPRO, the international players' union, expressed its discontent with FIFA's decision to schedule this event, stating that it would compromise the rest and recovery period for players at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season. The union criticized FIFA for showing a lack of regard for the mental and physical well-being of the athletes involved, as well as for their personal and family commitments.
