West Indies all-rounder Bravo announced his retirement from cricket.

West Indies cricketing icon Dwayne Bravo has officially retired from all formats of the game.

At the age of 41, Bravo, who has set numerous records in T20 cricket, made the announcement following a distinguished career that included 582 international matches, during which he claimed 631 wickets and amassed nearly 7,000 runs.

His retirement was precipitated by a groin injury sustained while fielding in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), which ultimately curtailed his participation in the tournament. Bravo had previously indicated that he intended to conclude his CPL career at the end of the current season, but this injury forced an earlier exit.

On Thursday, he took to Instagram to share his decision to retire from all forms of cricket.

In his message, Bravo expressed, "Today marks the moment to bid farewell to the game that has provided me with everything. From the age of five, I knew my calling was this sport. I had no interest in anything else and dedicated my entire life to cricket. In return, it has granted me a dream life for myself and my family. No words can adequately express my gratitude."

He continued, "My 21 years as a professional cricketer have been an extraordinary journey filled with highs and lows. Most importantly, I lived in a dream world, as I gave my all at every stage."

Bravo is celebrated as a legend and one of the greatest players in T20 history. His records and accomplishments speak volumes. He played the second most matches in T20 history with 582 and holds the record for the highest number of wickets at 631. He scored 6,970 runs with a strike rate of 125.44, and no other player has achieved the milestone of 500 wickets and 5,000 runs in T20 cricket.

He has won 26 T20 titles, with only his long-time teammate Kieron Pollard (29) having secured more championships.Bravo also boasts a record of five CPL titles and has claimed victories in various leagues, including the IPL, Champions League, Big Bash, PSL, BPL, South Africa T20 tournament, and IL T20.
