Ruud van Nistelrooy wants to stay at Manchester United in 'any role'

Manchester United are now working to appoint a new coach as quickly as possible after sacking Erik ten Hoag. United getting a new coach marks the end of interim head coach Ruud von Nistelrooy's tenure. Not just from the role of interim head coach, but Nistelroy's exit could be from Old Trafford.

However, the 48-year-old coach wants to stay at Manchester United. Ten Haag brought in Nistelrooy as an assistant coach last July. The future head coach of United will also choose the assistant coach of his choice. Nistlerroy intends to continue working in any role at the club at Old Trafford, even if he is not placed on the coaching staff.

Ten Haag was sacked by Manchester United on 28 October. On the same day, Nistelroy was appointed as the interim coach. According to European media reports, United are interested in appointing Ruben Amorim as the head coach of Portuguese club Sporting. Discussions are currently underway with Sporting. It is believed that Amorim will not be available before the start of the FIFA international break on November 11. After the match, Nistelroy told Sky Sports that although there is a possibility of a new coach coming in the future, he wants to stay at Old Trafford as long as possible, "I joined here as an assistant to help the club. Now I want to cooperate in this role as long as needed. I want to help the club in the future as well, be it in any role. That's exactly the place I joined here to take.'Known as one of the best strikers in the history of football in the Netherlands, Nistelrooy was a United player from 2001 to 2006. Nistelroy was delighted to return to coaching at the club after nearly two decades and stand in the dugout as head coach for the first time. Although he felt bad working on the first day without Ten Haag, 'Ten Haag was the one who called me here. I am sad to see him go. But football and life never stop.
