Double Delight for Bangladesh: Senior and U-19 Teams Clinch Wins Over Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka
Bangladesh enjoyed a triumphant day on the cricket field as both the senior and U-19 teams secured emphatic victories in their respective matches.
In Chittagong, the senior team, captained by Nazmul Hossain Shanto, thrashed Zimbabwe by an innings and 106 runs in the one-off Test. The hosts dominated all departments to seal a comprehensive win.
Meanwhile, in Colombo, the Bangladesh U-19 side, led by Azizul Hakim Tamim, defeated hosts Sri Lanka by 39 runs in a rain-shortened 28-over match. After electing to bat first, Bangladesh posted 144 for 2, thanks to an unbeaten 67 from captain Tamim and a steady 24 from Rizan. Despite early setbacks, including the run-out of in-form Jawad Abrar (38), the Young Tigers held firm.
Sri Lanka, chasing a revised target of 160 in 22 overs under DLS, were restricted to 120 for 7 as rain brought a premature end to the game, handing Bangladesh a win via the rain rule. With this result, the visitors now lead the six-match youth series 2-1.
