Burnley and Leeds United have both secured promotion to the Premier League

Burnley secured automatic promotion to the Premier League after beating Sheffield United 2-1 on Saturday. The result also saw Championship leaders Leeds United move up to the top of the table.
Leeds had earlier beaten Stoke City 6-0 to move top of the Championship on 94 points, with two games remaining and Burnley needing to avoid defeat at third-placed Sheffield United to secure a top-two finish. Tom Cannon's equaliser was joined by Josh Brownhill's double at Turf Moor as Burnley duly obliged as they extended their unbeaten league run to 31 games.

Scott Parker's side, who were relegated last season, are level on 94 points with Leeds, 86 points behind Sheffield United and now in the play-offs.

I'm speechless. So much hard work this season. We've been relegated so many times, people have called us boring, but we've been bored on our way back to the Premier League," Brownhill said.

"It feels incredible. I don't think many of the boys will be sleeping." Parker's team have conceded just 15 goals in 44 games and he has now won three Premier League titles, including Fulham and Bournemouth.

"It feels even more special. I've had a few bumps in the road as a manager. I've taken a year to decide that there's a big challenge ahead. I'm relieved and happy," Parker said.

Joel Pirro scored a hat-trick for Leeds in the opening 20 minutes at a bustling Elland Road and added another before half-time after the hosts led 5-0 at half-time.

Leeds are back at the top of the Premier League after three seasons in the top flight.

"Very proud. Very positive. The celebrations are fantastic. "We've been working towards this all year," said Leeds United captain Ethan Ampadu. "Without putting any extra pressure on us, we still have another target we want to achieve, so we'll enjoy tonight and then we'll try to do the whole thing."

Fourth-placed Sunderland secured a play-off place despite a 1-0 home defeat to Blackburn Rovers, who kept alive their slim hopes of a top-six finish.

Fifth-placed Bristol City lost 3-1 at Leyton Town in the relegation battle but are still above Coventry City, who lost 3-1 at bottom club Plymouth Argyle.

Seventh-placed Middlesbrough will be kicking themselves for failing to capitalise on Bristol and Coventry's defeats as they lost 2-1 at Sheffield Wednesday, despite initially leading.

Bristol have two games to spare City have 67 points, Coventry 66 and Middlesbrough 63. Millwall and Blackburn, with 63 and 62 points respectively, are still involved in the play-offs.
