Quetta Gladiators delivered a dominant all-round performance to crush Multan Sultans by 10 wickets in a one-sided clash on Tuesday, officially knocking the Sultans out of playoff contention in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Electing to bowl first, Quetta’s bowlers unleashed a ruthless display that dismantled Multan for just 89 runs—their lowest total in PSL history. Khurram Shahzad led the charge with a fiery spell, taking 4 wickets for 23 runs, including key scalps like Yasir Khan, Usman Khan, Kamran Ghulam, and Curtis Campher. Faheem Ashraf supported well with 2 for 21, while Mohammad Wasim cleaned up the tail with 2 for 18. Two run-outs compounded Multan’s woes.

Captain Mohammad Rizwan was the lone resistance, carrying his bat for a gritty 44 off 44 balls, but he found no support from the rest of the lineup—only Usama Mir (11) reached double digits.

In reply, Quetta openers Saud Shakeel and Finn Allen made light work of the chase, hammering an unbeaten 90-run partnership in just 6.5 overs. Saud remained not out on 42 off 20 balls, smashing 3 fours and 4 sixes, while Allen blasted 45 off 21 deliveries with 5 sixes and 2 fours, sealing the win in emphatic fashion.

This crushing win not only boosts Quetta’s momentum late in the season but also marks a disappointing end to Multan’s playoff hopes, highlighting a campaign that fell apart at a crucial stage.
