Yasir Khan’s Explosive 87 Powers Multan Sultans to 228/5 Against Lahore Qalandars

Yasir Khan stole the show with a sensational 87 off just 44 balls, while Iftikhar Ahmed added a blistering late cameo as Multan Sultans posted a commanding 228/5 in their Pakistan Super League 2025 clash against Lahore Qalandars on Tuesday.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Multan got off to a flying start. Yasir set the tone early, smashing six fours and six massive sixes, dismantling the Qalandars’ bowling attack in the powerplay and laying the foundation for a big total.

Skipper Mohammad Rizwan chipped in with a quickfire 32 off 17 before falling to Asif Afridi, and Usman Khan added valuable runs with a fluent 39 off 24. Despite a brief middle-over slowdown, where Rishad Hossain picked up crucial wickets—including Usman and Ashton Turner—Multan regained control thanks to Iftikhar Ahmed's explosive finish.

Iftikhar hammered an unbeaten 40 off just 18 balls, clearing the ropes three times and finding the boundary on three more occasions to lift Multan to an imposing total.

Among Lahore's bowlers, only Rishad Hossain (2/45) managed to exert some control. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Sikandar Raza picked up a wicket each but were otherwise expensive on a difficult night for the Qalandars in Multan.

Lahore Qalandars XI: Shaheen Afridi (C), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Naeem, Abdullah Shafique, Daryl Mitchell, Sam Billings (wk), Sikandar Raza, Rishad Hossain, Haris Rauf, Zaman Khan, Asif Afridi.
Multan Sultans XI: Mohammad Rizwan (C & wk), Yasir Khan, Usman Khan, Kamran Ghulam, Michael Bracewell, Iftikhar Ahmed, Ashton Turner, David Willey, Usama Mir, Ubaid Shah, Joshua Little.
