Champions Bayern Munich secured a 2–0 victory over Gladbach in Thomas Müller’s final home game.

Bayern Munich marked the end of an era and the continuation of dominance on Saturday with a 2–0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga, as club legend Thomas Müller played his final home game after 25 years at the club.

The 35-year-old Müller, who rose through Bayern’s youth ranks and amassed a historic haul of titles—including 13 Bundesliga crowns and two Champions League trophies—was honored in a pre-match ceremony featuring flowers, a commemorative photo, and warm tributes from club executives. The match marked his 750th appearance for the club in all competitions.

After the final whistle, Müller was the first to lift the Bundesliga trophy, handed to him by captain Manuel Neuer. Addressing the crowd, an emotional Müller said, “I loved being a modern gladiator. But I am not sad. I look forward to what is ahead even though it won’t be half as good... The appreciation you gave me is unique.”

Gladbach started brighter, putting Bayern under pressure early. But the hosts struck against the run of play in the 31st minute when Harry Kane’s header deflected a Michael Olise shot into the net. The goal marked Kane’s 25th of the league season—an effort that continues to edge him toward Bundesliga history, as he aims to become the first player to win the golden boot in both of his first two seasons in Germany.

“It’s an incredible feeling,” said Kane, soaking in the club's traditional beer showers. “It was a long time coming. Lots of hard work and sacrifices for moments like this... Hopefully the first of many.”

With their 34th Bundesliga title already secured, Bayern eased off in the second half. Gladbach pushed forward, but goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, returning from injury, produced a series of crucial saves. Michael Olise sealed the win in the 90th minute, shortly after Müller was subbed off to a standing ovation from the Allianz Arena faithful.

The victory capped a dream start for head coach Vincent Kompany, who celebrated a league title in his debut season with the club.
