Lamine Yamal has extended his contract with Barcelona, committing to the club until 2031.

Barcelona have confirmed that teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2031.

The 17-year-old forward has been instrumental in Barcelona’s domestic treble-winning season — capturing La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup — thanks to his explosive dribbling, creativity, and clinical finishing.

Yamal netted the decisive goal in a 2-0 victory over Espanyol that sealed Barça’s 28th league title, capping off a campaign where he scored 18 goals and provided a league-best 13 assists. He also played a key role in Barcelona’s run to the Champions League semifinals.

The young star’s rise has been meteoric. After helping Spain win the European Championship last summer, he has gone on to make 106 appearances for Barcelona since debuting at Camp Nou in April 2023 — all before turning 18 this July.

“In 2031, Lamine Yamal is only gonna be 23,” the club posted on X, emphasizing just how much potential lies ahead for their homegrown talent.

Yamal has been with La Masia, Barcelona’s famed academy, since the age of 7 — and now looks set to be a cornerstone of the club’s future for years to come.
