The message BCB received from the government regarding the Pakistan tour
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has received the green signal from the interim government to tour Pakistan. After receiving the government's approval, the Bangladesh team will travel from the United Arab Emirates to Pakistan to play a five-match T20 series as per the pre-scheduled tour schedule.
The India-Pakistan conflict had thrown the Bangladesh team's tour into uncertainty. The uncertainty was lifted after the ceasefire. The Bangladesh team, which went to the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday to prepare for this series, will play two T20 matches in Sharjah on May 17 and 19.
The government has no objection to playing a five-match T20 series in Pakistan, and the BCB has been informed verbally. The BCB is now waiting to receive the government's letter.
Yesterday, BCB director Iftekhar Ahmed Mithu said, "I have received the government's green signal regarding the Pakistan tour. However, I have not received the letter yet. I am waiting." We have passed the first step.’
As the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final is on May 25, according to the new schedule proposed by the PCB, Bangladesh and Pakistan will play the first three matches of the T20 series in Faisalabad on May 27 and 29 and June 1, and the last two matches in Lahore on June 3 and 5.
This will be Bangladesh’s second tour of Pakistan this year and third in the last one year. Bangladesh visited the country in August and September last year. At that time, Bangladesh created history by winning the two-Test series 2-0.
However, the team’s tour of Pakistan this year did not go well. The team was supposed to play two matches in Pakistan in the Champions Trophy. Bangladesh lost to New Zealand by 5 wickets in the first match. Then the match against Pakistan was washed away by rain. After the Test and ODI, this time the T20 test awaits Nazmul Hossain Shanto on the country’s soil.
