Kamindu wins Sri Lanka's Player of the Year award, Atapattu wins in women's category

The Sri Lanka Cricket Board has given the 2024 International Cricketer of the Year award for aesthetic performance in international cricket.


Kamindu Mendis and Chamari Atapattu grabbed the spotlight at the annual awards ceremony on Monday. Kamindu was the best in the boys' category in all formats. Chamari Atapattu won the Cricketer of the Year award in the women's category.

Atapattu won 6 awards alone. The Sri Lanka Cricket Board gave out a total of 7 awards in the women's international category. Chamari missed out on only one of them. She was selected as the ODI Batsman of the Year and All-Rounder. Atapattu won all three awards for the best batsman, bowler and all-rounder in T20 cricket. Kabisha Dilhari was the only ODI Bowler of the Year.

Wanindu Hasaranga won three awards in the boys' category. He was also named the ODI Bowler of the Year, as well as the T20I Bowler of the Year and All-rounder. Kamindu Mendis also won the Test Batsman of the Year award. In the boys' category, the Emerging Cricketer of the Year award went to Johnith Liyanage.
