AC Milan's goalkeeper, Mike Maignan, has signed a new contract extending to 2031.

AC Milan has secured the long-term future of Mike Maignan, as the goalkeeper signed a new contract extending to 2031 on Saturday.

Maignan made an immediate impact upon his arrival at Milan from Lille in 2021, stepping in to replace Gianluigi Donnarumma, who transferred to Paris Saint-Germain.

The France international played a crucial role in helping Milan clinch the Serie A title in his debut season and was honored as the Serie A goalkeeper of the season.

"(He) quickly became one of the key figures in the team, noted for his leadership, dependability, and unselfish attitude," Milan stated in an announcement.

"His continuous development led him to become the club captain and a vital presence within the squad, as well as a consistent member of the French national team."

At 30 years old, Maignan has made 188 appearances for Milan.
