Pakistan rumoured to be buying Colombo flight tickets, final decision by February 2

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started intensive discussions about the possibility of boycotting the T20 World Cup in support of Bangladesh. However, according to recent reports, Pakistan is not going that way in the end. This information has been reported in some Indian media reports.

Quoting PCB sources, it was reported that the Pakistan team has already booked flight tickets to Colombo, Sri Lanka. This makes it clear that Pakistan is not going to decide to boycott the World Cup like Bangladesh.

According to a report by Telecom Asia Sports, the Pakistan team led by Salman Ali Agha will go to Colombo together after the series against Australia. This indicates that Pakistan will participate in the World Cup and the possibility of a boycott against Bangladesh is also practically ruled out.

Earlier, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had said that they may consider boycotting the World Cup in support of Bangladesh. However, Bangladesh's request to change the venue citing security reasons was rejected by a vote of 14-2 at the ICC meeting.

After that, Naqvi met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. In the meeting, the Prime Minister advised Bangladesh not to boycott the World Cup due to the economic losses, despite diplomatic support. Apart from this, Pakistan is leaning towards participating in the tournament on the advice of top leaders including President Asif Ali Zardari, military officials and former PCB chairmen Najam Sethi and Ramiz Raja.

In particular, the possibility of not boycotting the group stage match against India is bright. All in all, the issue of booking Pakistan's flight tickets has added water to the rumors of boycott, even though there is no official announcement. It is learned that the final decision may be announced by Friday (January 30) or Monday (February 2).

The first two matches of the Pakistan team will be against the Netherlands and the United States on February 7 and 10. If nothing happens, if the Super Eight is confirmed by winning the first two matches, it is believed that Pakistan can also play the match against India.

Muzammil Suhrawardy, senior journalist of 'Hum News', said on WhatsApp, according to your general public's perception, Pakistan will eventually play in the World Cup. Such a possibility cannot be ruled out.

He also said that broadcasters earn 62 percent of their revenue from the Pakistan-India match, which is about a billion dollars. This is a big blow for the ICC as well. However, if the World Cup is not played, the Pakistan Cricket Board will lose about Rs 316 crore in revenue. Muzammil said that the government will pay for that compensation.

Most former cricketers, including Wasim Akram, are in favor of playing the World Cup. According to them, they earn money by commentating, so participating in the game is a certainty.

The Pakistan team is currently busy preparing for a three-match T20 series against Australia. The team management has been instructed to continue preparing for the World Cup.

So, despite supporting Bangladesh, Pakistan is not boycotting the World Cup and there is a possibility of a match against India. This has created both excitement and anxiety among cricket fans.
