Kiwi star returns home on paternity leave in the middle of the World Cup

Matt Henry played against England in a very important match for New Zealand in the T20 World Cup. And after this match, he has to catch a domestic flight.

The fast bowler is returning home on leave to be with his wife during the birth of his second child. In a statement, New Zealand coach Rob Walters wished Henry and his family well.

He expressed hope that the bowler will return if they reach the semi-finals.

New Zealand faced England in their last match of the Super Eights on Friday in Colombo. The Kiwis lost the match. However, if they had won this match, the Kiwis would have been assured of a ticket to the semi-finals.

Until this match against England, Henry was the joint highest wicket-taker for New Zealand in the tournament with 6 wickets in five innings. The New Zealand team announced early last month that Henry and Lockie Ferguson could return home on paternity leave during the World Cup.

Ferguson returned home during the group stage. As a result, he could not play against Canada.

He later rejoined the team and played against Sri Lanka in the Super Eights. The speedster is also playing against England.
